Interior Design, Interior Decorating, Interior Design ideas. Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson meets up with Tim and Lauren in High Point North Carolina to shop one million square feet of showroom space at Furnitureland South. Tim and Lauren Oliphant race through the showrooms with Rebecca trying on every sofa and recliner known to man. With plans in hand, Rebecca guide this young couple through the daunting task of furnishing their great room without spending one dime of their own money. The Oliphant’s were able to find a gorgeous linen sofa, 2 wingback chairs, a Leather chair and ottoman, an octagon shaped ottoman, sofa table and several coordinating fabric pieces for custom made pillows. Back home, Lauren and Tim made their own window treatments, painted out the fireplace wall, framed photos and hung art pieces in anticipation of the furniture arrival.
Watch to see how Tim and Lauren’s great room turned out!

A special thank you to Jason and Jeff Harris, owners of Furnitureland South and to Patrick Farlow, our Design Consultant for making this young couples dream come true!

I realize that this is a VIDEO contest that you are doing, but few things bug me more than the fact that EVERY TIME there is a “contest,” it is always the young, good looking couples that win. No one is overweight, no one is older and wiser, no one has a visible disability, etc., etc. HGTV did the same for years, but seems to have tempered that a bit mostly probably because the way they structure their shows has changed to focus more on the reality TV format of real live couples and individual craftspeople doing design/construction like Fixer Upper, the guys who build off grid, or who renovate really old houses, etc., etc. That is just offensive to me, and they certainly don’t “look like America” but they do look like the high school prom king and queens which is just damn tiresome. The days where one pro designer got to do a room for the “deserving” homecoming king and Queen are hopefully over and it is a relief! Mostly because it never had anything to do with design and because folks like me would never get on those shows and that sucked. (Fortunately, I can afford to hire a great designer myself but not everyone can!!). Posted in 2018.

I watch your videos when I can't sleep. I love everything you do. You just make homes homely. My whole house is based on your design concepts wherever I can. Wish I'd had your help 30 years ago.
