Interior Design Tips – Making the Top of a TV Lift Cabinet by Jon Peters

The TV lift cabinet is really coming together, and in this video, we’ll work on making the top. I used Sapele Wood, which is a great hard wood that is becoming more and more popular and is reminiscent of mahogany.

Now that that's done, it's time for the wife to decide she needs a bigger screen.

I am a late comer to youtube because of disability and learned so much from you. Your humbleness makes me watch your channel and there is so much to still watch. In Africa we have to improvise but you inspire me.
    Much love.

You could have used hidden hinges….. I might as well be the 100th person to point this out lol 🙂

spring loaded hinges are better than regular hinges for your application, the lid will always retract to the close position no matter what.

thats a larger top than a video I saw recently-you didn't have the wire holes in the first one. Anyway-could you make a larger cabinet and later on redo the top to put a larger TV in? I wouldn't want to make a smaller cabinet and then have to make another when the TV is upgraded to a bigger size.
